Day 5, on the road again...

We finished up night 4 with a campfire sing along and toasted marshmallows - the perfect last night to our evening away! Some of the children are losing their voices and we all now have the distinct whiff of campfire smoke but we're coming home with some new tunes.

An evening of showers, room inspections and clear packing instructions followed. The stakes were high with 20 points up for grabs. In the end, it wasn't just the clean room and organisation that won the challenge, it was the little extras... David, Miss Lovell and Miss Chandler were given sweets (on reflection, this may have been bribery), a balloon welcome with compliments of "best teachers ever" but the winning room had created a rap, complete with boom boxing in the background!!! We may have been a little too enthusiastic with our enjoyment of the song, as two teachers from the neighbouring room rushed out and gave us disapproving looks. Anyways, we enjoyed it and we're pretty good at "the look" ourselves 😜!

The children were rather sprightly this morning, possibly it was the news of a new Prime Minister?! It certainly wasn't the weather, after brilliant sunshine and blue skies yesterday, we've woken up to a rather drizzly, grey landscape.

PGL upped the jam stakes this morning: apricot, blackberry, raspberry and strawberry! There *may* be a few children with jam souvenirs packed carefully in their bags. Fueled with sausages, beans, hash browns, cereal and toast (and more toast), we moved onto the tricky task of bed stripping: "What's a quilt cover?".

We have done our best to keep track of the children's belongings but we're afraid to report there's a few things we can't find (are they in suitcases? Another child's suitcase? At activities? Sacrificed to the PGL gods?). We've visited lost property everyday, a clothes and water bottle mountain of garments to sift through!!

This morning we have had lots of fun at archery. Some children were naturals and some children needed a little more work on their aim. They followed instructions well and some even got very close to a bullseye 🎯!

We've just got back to school, and the children rushed to the trapeze wall in the playground to "check how easy it is"!!! How are they not tired?

A huge THANK YOU to Miss Lovell for her amazing organisation and leadership over the week and to David for his bundles of enthusiasm being our lead medicine giver. Ms Sikkens and Miss Chandler really enjoyed visiting for half the week too! Finally, a thank you to the children who made the week so brilliant. They were so well behaved, slept well and were excellent ambassadors for our school. #Ateam 💙
