Day 3 highlights
An interesting pre-bedtime event last night was an unexpected fire alarm. Most children were in PJs, one in a vest and pants all with no shoes! Luckily, it was quickly resolved and we got back into the swing of a quiet and calm evening routine, not what the teachers wanted at 9:40pm!
The teachers, you ask? Well, let's just say, they can get up but getting down is a little less graceful!
Year 6 started the day with slightly less enthusiasm, all these activities and late nights are catching up with them. That aside, and full of another great breakfast, they spent the morning summoning their inner Robin Hood with a spot of fencing ***edit*** Robin Hood is archery, Miss Chandler 🙈
Some quotes from this morning:
Miss Lovell had the grace of a water buffalo when she descended down the wall. Straight onto her bottom!
The rock climbing was scary but at the same time fun because we were abseiling.
After a quick pasta lunch, some more quiet activities and probably a visit to the snack bars that have popped up in bedrooms (that would rival any corner shop) they had a fun-filled afternoon of Jacob's ladder and aeroball.
Our instructor, Kai, told us that this is the most tiring activity so we should all sleep well tonight! Miss Lovell and Miss Chandler played each other, the final score 10-5! Neither of us lasted the full five minutes with echoing cries of "we're too old for this...", for sure, we will be sleeping well.
We had a delicious dinner of either chicken tikka masala or sausage rolls and wedges finished with a double dessert- PGL and then birthday treats! We may have inadvertently started a riot singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY at the top of our lungs. To compete, the other children started banging the tables and chanting- just like in the movies before the food fight starts...... Luckily for us, there are plenty of adults who put a stop to this and we quickly hightailed it out of the dining hall before we caused too much more drama!
We're off for an evening of 'Passport Around the World' and room inspections. All groups are tidying furiously as I type to be awarded the coveted 10/10!
